Democrats web site.
As a third generation
Nockamixon resident with intentions of retiring here, I would like to
share my thoughts.
There are a number of
amenities that attract people to this area. Some of the more visible
are recreation activities (hiking, biking, fishing etc) and watching
our children and grandchildren in youth sporting events.
However, we take for
granted the most important reasons we live here, the natural beauty,
resources and rural character of this area. In short, this is a great
place to live and raise a family.
Most people are inclined to
let someone else worry about preserving this special environment for
future generations and us. There are Township committees to address
these concerns, but they are only advisory boards and can not implement their recommendations.
That responsibility falls to the elected Board of Supervisors, who have the final say.
Therefore, it is extremely
important we
elect men and
women who share those values and not their self-interests, or influenced by others with special interests.
The question is not who
appears to have the resolve to manage these issues, but who has the wisdom and policies that affect needed changes, to
protect and preserve our natural resources and the rural character of
Nockamixon.
Please Join Us in moving forward towards these
objectives, because you do and should have a vested interest in endorsing and electing candidates who share your values and who will be good stewards
for generations to come.
